Guidelines for Reviewers

Reviewers: Please access the link provided in the email to view and/or download the manuscripts assigned to you for review, or to submit your comments to the editor and authors.

The editorial team of MEJLLT conducts an initial assessment of each submitted manuscript in-house. This assessment is based on factors such as timeliness, the significance of the topic, proper English usage, and relevance to the journal's readership. If the article meets the criteria, it is then sent to two expert reviewers from the advisory editorial board and beyond. Initially, the reviewers are given the abstract of the manuscript through the journal's online submission system to seek their approval for reviewing the article. Once their consent is obtained, the reviewers are provided with the submission and are asked to adhere to a maximum deadline of one month to submit their online reports to the Editor-in-Chief. Reviewers are also required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could impact the blind reviewing process.

Reviewers are given an online evaluation form to assess the originality of the paper, the methodology and data analysis, the clarity of findings and discussions, as well as the referencing and documentation. The review report should include general comments to the Editor-in-Chief, as well as both general and specific anonymous comments to the author(s). In cases where the two reviewers disagree on the suitability of the paper for publication, further peer review may be necessary. Each online review report should end with a final recommendation for the submitted paper, which could be to publish as is, publish with minor revisions, publish with major revisions, revise and resubmit for a second round of review, or reject. The ultimate decision on the publication of the article rests with the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
